Professor Michael J. Trebilcock of the University of Toronto writes an interesting editorial at Canada’s Financial Post.
As he correctly points out, windpower in other countries (Denmark, Germany) has not reduced CO2 emissions nor closed any coal powered plants. In fact, emssions have gone up and new coal plants have gone online.
He defines two types of greens: doomsdayers and rent seekers. The former promote huge government subsidies (your taxes) for any renewable energy project regardless of the cost, and the latter want the subsidies for themselves.
