Democrats and Republicans can agree on climate change
People who actually think for themselves can come to their own conclusions about the climate change scare, regardless of their political persuasion. In my local paper, the Summit Daily News, Morgan Liddick, a regular columnist, penned this article:
Liddick: Energy that makes sense
Let’s just say that Liddick typically leans quite a bit to the right, and while I’m an independent thinking moderate, he’s right on point with the column. I don’t always agree with him, but here I do.
This was followed up by a letter to the editor by frequent letter writer Dr. Martin Hertzberg:
Dr. Martin Hertzberg: Agrees with Liddick
“As a life-long liberal Democrat, I usually strongly disagree with Morgan Liddick’s political positions, especially on the issue of the effectiveness and necessity of government regulations to curb the excesses and abuses of the so-called “free market”; and of his opinions regarding Bush’s eight-year reign compared to Obama’s first hundred days. Nevertheless, as a scientist who has analyzed the “green energy” proposals of the new administration as it has been motivated by the fear-mongering hysteria associated with the theory of human-caused global warming, I must agree with Liddick’s arguments in his May 5 article that “green energy” has serious deficiencies both practically and economically.
Hertzberg and his wife are about as far left on most any issue you can find (just search the Summit Daily if you don’t believe me).
There you have it. Republicans and Democrats can agree on something. Well, these two at least.
