My wife and I took a lot of the photos on the web site and were sickened to the stomach at what we saw. It’s a huge destructive footprint for such a piddling amount of electricity.

From my research, the govt & forestry appear to be acting illegally. Here’s a quote from Forestry Act 1981 CHAPTER 39:

4 General duty of Ministers
After section 8 of the Forestry Act 1967 there shall be inserted-
“8A General duty of Ministers:
In performing their functions under this Act the Ministers shall have
regard to the national interest in maintaining and expanding the forestry
resources of Great Britain.”

Forestry cover in Wales has decreased from 289,000 hectares in 2000/01 to
284,000 in 2008/09, partly due to regeneration of upland heath and partly due to
WAG’s wind farm development program in land managed by Forestry Commission
Wales.

So, WAG appear to be complicit in breaking the law, and they expect the public to be law abiding. How hypocritical can you get?
