Is the U.S. Surface Temperature Record Reliable?

Anyone who is interested in climate change and how global temperature is calculated needs to read the excellent report “Is the U.S. Surface Temperature Record Reliable?” by Anthony Watts. The report, compiled by Mr. Watts with information collected by many voluteers, shows clearly that the U.S. surface temperature stations don’t even meet the standards set by our government.  The climate scientists are using poor data like this and then calculating global temperature to decimal places?  To cite an old computer term:  Garbage in, garbage out.

The report can be dowloaded here (about 4 MB in size):

Read the report and draw your own conclusions. You should also visit Mr. Watts’ weblog Watts Up With That.
