Windmills in Wales

Do wind farms damage the environment?

Do wind farms damage the environment?

Why do environmentalists think it is a good idea to clear forests for wind farms? See the story on Wales Online:

Fears quarter of Wales’ largest woodland will be felled for wind farm

  • Protesters believe plans for Clocaenog Forest, in North East Wales, would see a vast swath of the woodland cleared to make way for up to 48 gigantic 145m or 475-ft-high turbines.
  • Retired teacher and conservationist John Morgan, who is also a member of the conservation group the Hiraethog Alliance, fears the scheme is just the latest that will ultimately see Wales turned into one huge wind farm.
  • “It’s the end of Wales – it’s going to become something else.”

I previously wrote about wind farms in Wales last May in the post Windpower in action in Wales.

Don’t the environmentalist see the cost and damage caused by their “green” solutions?
